The Southern Suburbs offer great access to hiking trails and the Botanical gardens of Table Mountain. In addition it is home to some of the countries oldest vineyards.

The Southern Suburbs look up to table Mountain and the University of Cape Town on it's slopes. The student nature of many of the suburbs and the presence of a many sporting facilities give the area a dynamic character.

Further south the Vineyards of Constantia have been producing wines since 1648. Napoleon Bonaparte was very fond of Vin de Constance a sweet wine still produced by the vineyard at Klein Constantia.
